After helping many people get access, here's a summary on how to get access to GPT-3 condensed into a single tweet:
How to get access to #GPT3:
1) Pitch a commercial idea ($). Kind of like Shark Tank.
2) Keep your pitch brief
3) Make sure your product use case is a good fit for GPT-3, it's capabilities, and technical limitations. Eg. it's text based only (2048 chars max)
4) Stand out!
These are the main ideas you have to get right in your email pitch. I really recommend spending a few hours crafting your pitch and getting it just right before submitting it. It should come from an authentic place and read as something short but effective.
For reference, here's my (really long) video I made on the topic last year:
In hindsight, this video has helped a lot of people but it's just too long and also I now regret advising people to mention they're academics. Nowadays, I think you should pitch commercially and avoid mentioning academia altogether. That's just my opinion though.
Good luck!
Hello,
I watched your great video concerning how you got access to gpt-3's beta.
So far, what I could have noted is that the best way to get access is to contact OpenAI's CTO, as you mentionned. But I have also heard rumors talking about teaming up with big firms and joining OpenAI's slack channel.
I would like to know, according to you, whereas the revenue and/or size of one's company does matter or not in order to get accepted by OpenAI.
If so, would you recommend to team up with another high turnover firm to maximize the chance to get the licence?
In addition, do you think there is a minimal turnover threshold required to get access to the beta?
I appologize for any english mistakes that I may have done.
I am really looking forward to your reply.
Thanks in advance
