Using DALL-E 2 to Preserve Individual Privacy
I’ve found myself using DALL-E 2 in a really interesting way lately. I’ve found that I use it often to share photos from my personal life, but retain some of my own privacy:
In this case, I was able to share with the entire world that I bought a new plant while retaining a fair amount of private details. This includes the layout of my kitchen, cabinets, and more. I feel it gets the message across and still involves people in my life, while also retaining the kind of privacy I want at a public scale. So far, a lot of my audience hasn’t said anything either - they seem to be fine with just the “jist” of the event that I’m sharing with them … I was scared they might see it as rude.
This is an exciting use case for me because I think it represents some interesting new dimension of social media. Imagine being able to generate a variation of different photos you post publicly a lot easier - this would be a great way for people who are very privacy conscious to also participate in a lot of the benefits of online communities. I also think celebrities and very public figures would also deeply appreciate being able to retain their privacy rights a lot better through DALL-E 2 variations.
