Is GPT-3 Coming to Microsoft Azure?

As a part of my ongoing series on the growth of the GPT-3 economy, I ran my usual search on indeed to see if more GPT-3 related jobs have started to open.

Interestingly, I came across this job posting from Microsoft:

Full job post reads:

In Azure AI, we’re partnering with OpenAI to bring the next generation of language models into the hands of developers everywhere. We are focused on providing powerful, yet easy to use ML developer services based on generative language models like GPT-3 that can be used readily out of the box and further customized to our customers’ unique needs.

On the Responsible AI team, we work to ensure that each new product or technology we build is developed and used responsibly. In this role, you will drive Responsible AI product experience and implementation to enable developers to successfully and safely use OpenAI models in real-world applications.

This role requires a deep understanding of NLG-powered use cases and Responsible AI and a keen sense of product to define developer (and UI) experiences to let customers harness rapidly evolving technologies.

  • Experience in Responsible AI or Content Moderation

There’s a lot you can take away from this post, but what I find interesting is that this is the first public acknowledgement I’ve seen that GPT-3 is being folded into Microsoft Azure in some way.

Very little is known about the relationship between OpenAI and Microsoft. I’m personally really optimistic about the whole thing, but it’s an interesting job posting nonetheless …

Update - October 14, 2021

Azure has already integrated GPT-3 based on announcements in the past. This post is really to say that this job post could reflect a more substantial GPT-3 integration into Azure coming up and shine more light on the deeper partnership with OpenAI. Sorry for the poor wording here.
